The Evolution of Pocket-Sized Homes
Pocket Sized Homes is the brainchild of Barry Bourquin, a seasoned design-builder boasting over four decades of expertise not only in crafting bespoke home designs but also in constructing them from the ground up. This unique fusion of design and construction experience empowers me to offer meticulously detailed, precise, and contractor-friendly house plans.
My journey began in 1983, amid the aftermath of the post-1981 recession, where I focused on crafting moderate-sized 3 and 4-bedroom residences to address evolving housing needs. As the economy flourished, so did the scale of my design-build projects, exemplified by several notable endeavors.
In the wake of the devastating Superstorm Sandy’s impact on the New Jersey coast in 2012, my focus shifted towards creating replacement homes engineered to withstand the ferocity of hurricane-force winds and tidal surges.
Today, I’m returning to my origins, channeling my expertise into the creation of Real Homes in a Real Small format, aligning with the preferences of contemporary homebuyers.
